In this podcourse, Stephen Groner shares practical strategies that SLPs can implement when treating children who stutter--with a focus on special populations. SLPs will walk away with practical strategies that they can use when treating children with concurrent intellectual disabilities and children who are bilingual.

Objective

By the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify three strategies to use when treating children who stutter and have concurrent intellectual disabilities.
  2. Identify three strategies to use when treating children who stutter and are bilingual.

About Stephen: Stephen Groner is a practicing speech-language pathologist and person who stutters (who now speaks very fluently) who wants to make stuttering therapy easy for everyone. He lives in Lancaster, PA with his wife, Margot, and daughter, Auden.

About Marisha: Marisha earned her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington. She has worked as a school-based SLP and shares therapy ideas and resources on her blog (SLP Now). Marisha also developed a membership for SLPs that includes digital tools and resources to streamline evidence-based therapy.
