Pain Management: Physical Therapy

Effective physical therapy intervention must begin with an evaluation and examining potential pain facilitators. Physical therapists use manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, cold lasers, and modalities as interventions. Other interventions to help patients by physical therapists are reviewed.


Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Implement a twelve step evaluation process.
  • State 3 scientifically validated physical therapy interventions for pain treatment.
  • Understand the history, scientifically validated effects and 4 indications for cold laser therapy.
  • Implement three types of manual therapy and three steps in an exercise program progress.
