In this podcourse, Lauren Haines from Busy Bee Speech shares practical strategies for evaluating and treating preschool and school-age children who stutter. With a focus on facilitating more meaningful outcomes for students, SLPs will walk away with practical tips and strategies to use when working with students who stutter.

Objective

By the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify three strategies to evaluate students who stutter.
  2. Identify three strategies to strategically write goals for students who stutter.
  3. Describe three therapy activities to use when treating students who stutter.

About Lauren: Lauren (LaCour) Haines is a graduate of Louisiana State University and has been a school-based speech-language pathologist in the Baton Rouge area for over 12 years.  She serves as SLP and lead special education teacher at a local primary school. Lauren is the author of the website busybeespeech.com and sells speech therapy related resources on Teachers Pay Teachers.   

About Marisha: Marisha earned her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington. She has worked as a school-based SLP and shares therapy ideas and resources on her blog (SLP Now). Marisha also developed a membership for SLPs that includes digital tools and resources to streamline evidence-based therapy.
