Presenters: Michelle L.W. Dawson, MS, CCC-SLP and Patti Minicucci, MS CCC-SLP
In this episode Michelle is joined by the effervescent co-director Patti Minicucci, MS CCC-SLP, of Tots to Teens Therapy Services, of Northern Virginia.  Patti, a former guest speaker at the University of Mary Washington, who has also held trainings for pediatricians and other professionals, has been an Early Interventionist SLP for over 20 years!  She brings with her to this episode, personal experience and passion, as she describes the Non-Profit Organization “Feeding Matters” and how this Parent Founded, yes you read that right Parent Founded, group is breaking ground across our country to make EI Pediatric Dysphagia/Feeding Therapy fearless and obtainable for all! 

By the end of this PodCourse, participants will be able to identify and describe:

  1. what “Feeding Matters” is and their mission in the world of Speech Language Pathology. 
  2. 3 aspects of the “Infant-Child Questionnaire”, and how to utilize it in their ST evals/sessions.  
  3. 3 aspects of the “Power of 2” program and how to incorporate it into their practice.
About Michelle: Michelle Dawson, MS, CCC-SLP is an accomplished lecturer and PEDs Therapist, she has written and given numerous ASHA approved CEU lectures on such topics as Infantile Spasm and Oropharyngeal Dysphagia, along with Apps and ST, and co-authored a course on Best Practices in EI.  She has also given an AOTA-approved lecture on Sensory Integration from the SLP perspective.  Michelle has delivered lectures at the SCSHA Convention and twice with the SCATP Expo. 

About Patti: 
Patti Minicucci, MS CCC-SLP received her Bachelor's of Science Degree and Master's Degree from Florida State University.  She has been working as a speech-language pathologist for more than twenty years.  Her experience includes extensive work in the School Systems, Early Intervention, and multidisciplinary facilities including United Cerebral Palsy and Easter Seals.  Patti specializes in Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Expressive Language Disorder, Feeding Disorders, and is Beckman Oral Motor Certified. She has been a guest speaker at the University of Mary Washington and has held training for pediatricians as well as in other professional settings.  In 2008, she and partner Jennifer Ruckner created Tots To Teens Services to provide speech and language resources to the families of Northern Virginia.
