This 2-hour course provided 7 strategies to become an effective and successful school SLP. Topics included: Scheduling, relating to students, how to create meaningful routines, parent communications, how to build strong relationships with teachers, how to streamline paperwork and enhance the speech room for a more positive learning environment. Numerous practical, efficient forms were shared.
By the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Create an effective therapy schedule for the year
2. List 5 helpful components of a parent friendly IEP
3. Establish meaningful routines in therapy that help connect relationally with students

About Mary: 
Mary Jutila, MS, CCC-SLP graduated from Loma Linda University with her degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a General Education Teaching Credential. She, also, earned her graduate degree in Communicative Disorders from University of Redlands.  Over the course of 20 years, Mary has been a private practitioner, a school therapist, and a Special Day Class teacher.

She has mentored several graduate and undergraduate SLP students, chaired the Read Across America committee at her school and started a highly successful school Speech Intervention Program. Most notably, while in the elementary school setting, Mary was awarded the distinguished honor of “Teacher of the Year.”

Mary has written several books (as well as a personal blog) and has spoken at a variety of conferences in the United States and Canada. She has a passion for connecting with others in a meaningful way and bringing joy into her students’ lives while enriching their communication skills. Mary has three young-adult children and lives in the Willow Glen area of San Jose, CA.
